An Autoresponder Nightmare

On a dark and stormy night, a solitary man sits at his computer.

Surfing his favorite sites, trying to ward off the darkness of the empty house with the familiar glow of his computer screen.

The lightning strikes and the thunder cracks. "Hmm closer this time" the solitary man thinks, oblivious to the disaster that was about to unfold....

Then he returns to the all too familiar layout of one of your sites.

The howling of the wind and the rumble of the storm seem to disappear as he happens upon a product that could dramatically improve his life. The emptiness of the house seems inconsequential before the irresistible offer that has appeared in front of him. As if the planets themselves had aligned, the most timely, enticing, absolutely perfect offer has come before him.

And then it happens

Absolute disaster manifests itself in the form of a lightning bolt. The solitary man, with credit card in hand has suddenly found himself in an ocean of darkness, as the lights flicker and then go out completely. The nightmare begins as the glow of the computer screen fades into the night.

NOOOOO!!!! The man screams into the darkness of the empty house. The man swings and attacks the air in front of him, trying to beat back the storm with a now useless credit card.

How can hope possibly survive this catastrophe of catastrophes?

How can the darkness lift from the room shedding light upon the disaster that stands before YOU?!

That's right, YOU.

Because this is your nightmare not his.

I have one question. Your answer very well might determine your survival from this hopeless situation.

Do you have an autoresponder?

Internet Marketing and opt in automatic responders (autoresponder) essentially go hand-in-hand. In the world of online business, you simply cannot succeed at Internet marketing without the use of autoresponders. Autoresponders are used to achieve many of the marketing tasks that are essential to a successful online business. If set up properly, they will save you time and maybe more importantly, a boat load of money.

Autoresponders are very helpful, but do not rely on them to run your whole business. You need to maintain personal contact with your customers.

An auto responder is simply a piece of software that manages your subscriber list and emails your subscribers preset letters at preset intervals. Basically, it automates the correspondence you will have with your opt-in subscriber list.

A quality autoresponder will assist you with the management of your subscriptions and follow-up with interested prospects. Newsletters can keep your visitors informed regarding the services or products that you offer, while building your reputation as a credible expert in specific areas of your business.

NOTE: Don't wait too long in between messages or people will forget about you and the tutorial. At the end of the ecourse, you can add a couple of follow-ups or maybe a survey on how they like the ecourse with a free report or ebook as a thank you.

Distribute free reports. This gives your visitor an idea of the type of information you can provide and the quality of your product or service. Make sure these reports are not sales letters or you will more than likely lose a potential customer than gain a sale.

You can use autoresponders for articles and ecourses. I put each article on an autoresponder with a couple follow-ups and then I also have a master list of all my articles. I promote the address of the master list from which people can automatically receive the individual articles and follow-ups.

Automate your sales process. Use an ad to insure repeated exposure of your message, which has been proven to effectively increase sales. In your ad, put your autoresponder address where a visitor will be exposed to numerous marketing materials. This multiplies the chances of converting visitors into customers. For example, if you're selling a particular product, put testimonials about how spectacular it is on your autoresponder, and add a detailed, enticing description of your product.

Also, not having the ability to track responses can cost you business. If you cant track response rates, you wont have any way of knowing whether your messages are doing you any good. A good autoresponder will provide the ability to track responses. If yours doesnt, you might want to shop for a new autoresponder.

When you set up your autoresponder to send a message to someone that has placed an order, there are several things that should be included in the message. This is an opportunity to 'speak' to your customer, and to let them know about other deals that you have or special items that you have available. You should not miss this opportunity.

Once you set up your autoresponders, they can be marketing your products/services for you 24/7, which could increase your sales and income substantially!

OsCommerce for High Risk Merchants: The Good, The Bad, and The Possibilities

Just because osCommerce is the most popular merchant account software doesn't mean it's the best solution for your online business. Agree or disagree? Do you find osCommerce to be overrated? A lot of high risk merchants adopt osCommerce as their primary merchant account solution because of so many advantages. But, knowing osCommerce is open source (hence the name), there will always be loopholes before merchants can actually find it functional for their specific business needs.

OsCOMMERCE BUGABOOS

So what are the likely monkey wrenches that might pop out once you start using osCommerce? For those having second doubts, you may be justified. Consider:

1. There are way too few templates in the osCommerce solution. If you attempt to tinker with the stylesheets, it would take a lot of time and a developer's help to be able to accomplish the best template for your needs.

2. Merchants may be vaguely aware of "attributes". In order to take full advantage of the limited attributes system, merchants will need to get a good developer to modify it. Otherwise, osCommerce's shopping cart may not be the best solution to use.

3. Even osCommerce's administration area isn't keen on password protection. However, this is remediable by simple research on the site and discussion with your developer.

4. As osCommerce is heavily dependent on the contribution of programmers worldwide, even product catalog capacity needs to be modified. osCommerce's solution won't suffice for big scale catalogs unless it has been altered to adopt new products that the server can handle.

Based from these loopholes, we can tell that a lot of osCommerce's capabilities are dependent on the software developer who is responsible for the alterations and extensions in the system. osCommerce is so powerful but without the ability to customize it to your merchant account's needs, it loses its potential to provide a cheap (or free) and efficient credit card processing solution.

THE SWEETER SIDE OF OsCOMMERCE

Now what makes osCommerce absolutely attractive for low risk and high risk merchants alike? Hands down, it beats other solutions simply because it's free! You can download the software, add-ons, and modifications grais. Also, osCommerce was being utilized by online merchants all over the world since March 2000, so it's pretty much universally trusted.

Although osCommerce's main weakness is the great necessity to modify the attributes, it is also its biggest strength. Its flexibility for customization as well as the capacity to support several languages and accept many international currencies make it the best open source merchant account software around. Security, user-friendliness, and a strong developers' community support also add up to its usability.

osCommerce's features can easily be checked out on their website. It lists down general functionality, set-up or installation, design, administration, customer, product, payment, shipping, and tax functionalities. Indeed, low risk and high risk merchants may only realize the full potential of osCommerce as shopping cart and card processing tool only when they pick out the features that would seamlessly work with their business - then, enlist the help of developers for further customization and expansion.

Paris Hilton's Numerology; will her Talents ever match her Fame?

As a woman who wishes to be spoken of in the same breath as Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana, Paris Hilton has perused fame and publicity with a single minded doggedness. Using her considerable fortune, family name, plastic surgery, and extensive contacts among the elite, she has managed to become truly famous, without showing any real talent for anything except being a socialite. Now with a recording career underway, and a successful reality television show in its 5th season, the question is will we see more of the same from Paris Hilton, or is there change on the horizon?

As a Numerologist, if I want to use divination and see what is in a person's future there are (3) main calculations which I look at: their Life Cycle, their Letters of Transit and their Personal Year. These values tell us what's in a person's future in a general sort of way.

===> Her Life Cycle

Paris Hilton's first cycle will run through her 34th birthday in 2015. These years hold many opportunities to work with other people in groups or in large companies. She will make many friendships and be sensitive to other people's opinions in these years. Paris craves companionship and public recognition during this cycle. Her plans during this cycle take time to develop, rather than happening overnight. Witness her clime to fame, which she has worked on for many years.

===> Her Transit Letters

Paris Hilton has had a long running transit Letter 'I' which began in 1998 and will run through her birthday in February of 2007. This letter marks a time of emotional ups and downs in her life. This is a time filled with creative opportunities, but also delays and nervous anxiety over her plans. This is a period where plans take a long time to mature.

Paris also has two Transit letters of moderate duration which have been affect since 2005, and will stay in affect for some time, the letters 'N' and 'O'.

Her transit letter of 'N' marks a time filled with excitement, changes, and travel. This letter calls on the subject to be adaptable to many situations. This is a pleasant time for Paris Hilton.

Her transit letter of 'O' marks a time with periods of serenity in her life. Paris will experience improved finances during these years. These are also good years for study, taking on task where she is called upon to learn new skills. Certainly her foray into acting and the launch of a singing career would fall into this category.

In February of next year, she loses the letter 'I' and gains a transit letter of 'S'. This transit letter, while only in affect for one year, is the harbinger of change and surprises. Paris will find that 2007 is an active and ambitious year, full of change and emotional highs for her. Will her singing or acting career take off, or will some other major event occur which brings her closer to her goals, or changes them altogether.

===> Her Personal Year

The year 2006 is a personal year (9) for Paris Hilton, a time of closure in this phase of her life. Unlooked-for endings will occur this year; but only concerning those things which she no longer needs or wants. She should attempt to close out her affairs and prepare for new challenges. Paris should also try to put off any new undertakings until next year.

===> Summation

In summation, though 2006 looks like more of the same for Paris Hilton, both her transit letters and her personal year call for major changes in her life next year, probably starting in February 2007. I would guess that her singing career won't take off, since she is trying to release her album in a nine year, instead of waiting for a one year. As for what the form of her surprise is next year, I'm not sure; but I am willing to bet that it will be something new and different. And, I will also bet that it will bring her fame and publicity in some new venue; after all she is Paris Hilton.

What is a Virtual Book Tour?

This is one of the many questions Ive had to answer since starting on my nationwide virtual book tour on November 1, 2006 November 30, 2006 to promote my first self-published promoting eBook, A Complete Guide to Promoting & Selling Your Self-Published eBook.

A virtual book tour is simply touring blogs instead of bookstores. It's a wonderful way to gain exposure for your book without leaving the comfort of your home.

Because this is a wonderful way to promote your books, whether they are in print or electronic format, we need to know just what is involved so that others can benefit from this wonderful promotional venue for getting the word out that your book (or eBook) exists.

Penny Sansevieri, CEO and founder of Author Marketing Experts, Inc (http://www.amarketingexpert.com), best-selling author and internationally recognized book marketing and media relations expert claims the Virtual Author Tour, which is her biggest Internet program, is the single MOST effective way to promote a book because it actually works.

And, it does work.

If you want to start your own virtual book tour, you can, but there are some things you need to think about to get the most exposure.

The first thing you need to do is line up interested blogmeisters who would be willing to host you. To find them, put your topic in any known blog search engine, and pay them a visit. Dont spring it on them all at once, but visit their blogs, comment and let them get to know you first. Build up their confidence in you.

The main thing you need to think about is to find those blogs which get a creditable amount of trafficand hopefully, updated dailythat would be interested in hosting you. The blogs that might be interested would be, of course, those interested in your topic.

Once you get your virtual book tour established, start announcing it on all your blogs and websites. You need to get people interested, and create a buzz before the big day.

To help explain the virtual book tour better, here are a few questions and answers that better explains.

How long should my tour be?

Ive seen tours last for an entire month, but thats entirely up to you. It depends on how much time you want to devote to it. I chose a month-long tour, and its turning out to be quite successful.

Why should anyone want to do this? Should I offer incentives?

Sure, incentives really work. I offered a copy of my eBook in exchange for a review, but you have to be very careful with this. If the blog or website has low traffic, it may not be economical to do. When this happens, offer them a sampler of the eBook so at least they know what its about.

How are sales after something like this?

The thing is, a virtual book tour is just like any other book tour. Yes, the goal is to make sales, but that will happen. What you will want to do with this is get your selling page on as many blogs and websites as possible so the search engines will link up to you. Long after your tour is over, youll find people visiting your site, and buying your books (or eBooks).

Why cant I just comment in peoples blogs about my books instead of going through all that?

Because youll come off as spam. No one wants to go to their comment section and see someone else promoting their books. The virtual book tour may require more effort, but people will see how much effort you are putting into this. Leaving your book information in the comment sections of blogs is a big no-no, and opens you up to being condemned from ever posting there again. Not only that, but a virtual book tour is so much more personable, and gives you a chance to answer questions that others might have questions about.

Setting up your own virtual book tour takes commitment and you need to be very organized, but once it gets going, youll enjoy the tour. In order to get those sales which is what the virtual book tour is all about, its just like any other book tour, but without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

If you would like to follow me along on my first ever virtual book tour, visit my blog at http://selfpublishedebookpromotion.blogspot.com/2006/10/virtual-book-tour.html.

Use the Internet to your advantage, and start your own virtual book tour!

Google vs. Yahoo & MSN Live and the Power of Validation

If you have read the recent July Headlines you will see captions like-

* Microsoft Ambushes Google with Live Search Club, Search Share Surges
* Yahoo! squares up to Google in paid-search game

With the Big Three battling it out for the prize of % of market share one thing is not mentioned in this equation.

How much does it cost to create Value to Market and increase your Validation as a search engine returning quality results?

As with any industry with a high degree of growth, Search Engine visibility is still the master of profits for companies on the first page of Google. The difference in sales from Google rankings compared to Yahoo or MSN are not even comparable when you talk to medium companies who rely on Search Engines for their revenues.

I have really never met a company who said their business has been better influenced by Yahoo or MSN over Google.

Why does Google Dominate Search Revenues?

The answer is Validation.

val'ida'tion
1. the act of validating; finding or testing the truth of something
2. the cognitive process of establishing a valid proof

No other search engine has the best validation for anyone looking for information, products or services. Yahoo and MSN have too many ads and pushed advertising for them to carry the same validation from searchers. MSN Live is late and I feel like I am in some gloomy little place whenever I go there. There are no companies I have talked with that claim Live is a savior yet. Yahoo has the best social environment but you wont make money like you will with Google.

That is the single most powerful reason companies prefer Google 100 to none. Most companies measure success through revenues and that is the main difference here with Google. The SEO Agency has been providing Local Search to clients whose revenues come completely from Google and in situations where the Yahoo and Live traffic just dont convert like Google traffic.

Yahoo dominates social activity naturally and their Yahoo store can be profitable but nowhere near the influence of Google for growing your online business and online brand exposure.

The numbers dont even make sense, even if Yahoo and MSN had equal search traffic or greater market share of searches similar to Google's, roughly 60%, they would still be beat by a better conversion ratio from Google Searchers.

It comes back to Validation and the essence of the Google Search Engine focus. By design or chance they have created the single most influential tool used to connect business, services and ideas to people searching for them. I do see industry and Interest search being more open to competition but that is unknown in 2007.

Big search engines will have to match the Validation of Google to compete even with a closer market share of search users. What is the price of validation? Only time will tell.

Make Money Online - Is It Possible

If you want to make money online, than you will first have to defeat that negative voice in the back of your head that says it isn't really possible.

I can tell you firsthand it is possible and I am living proof that anyone with a little persistance and effort can crack the code and make money online. Now if you would have asked me that question several years ago, I probably would have had said "I am not sure".

But today I can definately say that is possible for you, but first you have to get your mind in the right place. In a positive place. Instead of being a doom and gloom type of person, you have to look at every step you take wether good or bad and learn from them.

I am not going to pull your chains and tell you that you are going to get rich overnite, because making money on the internet can take weeks or even months to set yourself up for success. But all of the investing and effort that you apply now will pay off later as long as you are'nt one of these many people that join a make money program and than give up when they don't see overnite wealth!

As a society we want everything to be done for us and in the blink of an eye. Answer me this question; "If you knew that in one year if followed certain steps you would be financially well off, would you pursue the steps or just say no thanks?

My guess is that financial independence would be a strong motivator for you. Guess what, it is the motivating factor for everyone that wants to make money online. The difference between you and the other guy is your desire and perseverance.

You may have to deal with family and friends along the way that tell you that you will never make money and your time is wastaed because all money making programs are scams or rippoff's! I am telling you that this is what I dealt with when I first came online, but now that I am cranking out money from my online business those people are the first ones to help me spend it! So don't get caught up in all of that negative crap!

Even when it feels like your online business moves two steps back if you keep at it, your business will jump forward and you will make money online.

Affiliate Programs The advantages of being an affiliate

Affiliate programs are becoming more and more popular as a fast-track way to start an internet business. These programs can offer huge advantages for affiliates, especially when they offer online training, support and marketing tools. There is a lot of money to be made if you join the right program.

I am a strong believer in the value of affiliate programs and believe that the best way to start an internet business is to become an affiliate of another program or to join a network marketing company. Why? To learn as much as possible from your sponsor(s) and make use of all the free advice and tips you will receive from them.

When you are eventually ready to start your own business you will already have a lot of experience and knowledge (that you obtained for free!) that will give you a huge advantage and save you a lot of money and time.

By the way, there are many very successful internet marketers that earn all of their money through affiliate programs and network marketing programs.

If you find a great affiliate program where you can make a lot of money and you decide to stay with the company instead of starting your own new business then good for you! If on the other hand you want to start a new business of your own then you would have at least learned a lot from the affiliate program, and hopefully made some money as well in the process.

The biggest mistake people make is to jump all the time from the one affiliate program to the other without taking the time to learn and understand the program and system. There are many programs on the internet. If you are going to leave what you are busy with every time you think you have discovered a better program then you will never learn anything.

Take your time to learn and be patient. I can assure you that you will not become an overnight millionaire following any affiliate program. Like any other business it takes time to build a successful affiliate business, even with the support and training you may receive.

I tend to look at things very logically. If something does not make sense to me I rather avoid it.

Consider the following:

You develop a great product that you want to sell for $10 on your website. It might have costed you thousands of dollars to develop and many many months of hard work with no income while you were developing your product. You are finally ready to launch your product. Since you are only one person with one website you realize the need to establish an affiliate program where you can have hundreds of affiliates promote your company and get thousands of people to buy from you. In order to get affiliates interested you must pay them between 20% and 50% of your sales price or gross profit.

I don't know about you but the above scenario looks like a lot of very hard work without any guarantee of success. The thought of it certainly does not get me excited.

Now consider the following - You join the above company as an affiliate and earn say 50% commission on all sales. You do not need to buy the product and have no investment in the company. You can start to sell the product from the 1st day you become an affiliate and make a lot of money. In fact, the company will make 50% and you will make 50%. You have no risk and can walk away from the program anytime you wish. What a pleasure! This is what I like the most from affiliate programs.

Remember that not all affiliate programs are good. Many of them only offer products that you would not want to give away for free to your mother-in-law. Furthermore, the support program and training offered is not always top quality.

I do not know about you but I cannot promote any product or service that I do not understand or do not believe in. You should always be able to sell the product to yourself. If you would not buy the product because you do not believe in it then please do not promote it to other people as the best product out there. You will sleep a lot better at night!

Remember that ultimately it is up to you to make a success of the program.

To your success !

Affiliate Marketing Home-Based Business: What Is It And Why Does It Work?

We are living in an amazing time in history! Technology has given us the ability to communicate, be productive, and work wherever we have internet access. But how do you get an employer to agree to let you work from home? That is tricky. Most companies are still uncomfortable allowing employees to telecommute. One big reason is that businesses who allow employees to work offsite have to make investments and be vigilant about security breaches into the company intranet. Some companies now allow for an occasional telecommute, but that barely impacts the issues driving the desire to work from a home office, such as high fuel costs, long commutes, expensive child care costs, and global warming.

Another way to make money online is to set up your own virtual business. But trying to build your company from scratch is expensive and risky. A quick internet search will present a plethora of home-based business options. So, how do you know which ones are legitimate? The answer is to look at the business model. A solid opportunity provides benefits to all parties involved. Affiliate marketing programs have attracted a lot of attention lately. This type of program is successful because companies need help getting the attention of consumers who have may have an interest in buying from them.

Businesses have long known that referrals from a friend, or another influential authority, such as a trusted business or an association are much more likely to make a purchase than those who come in arbitrarily. This recommendation breaks the initial barrier of distrust between vendor and prospective customer. However, before the internet age, companies had a hard time obtaining enough referred business to sustain their profitability goals. So, they also used expensive media ads to bring in additional customers and build their brands. With the proliferation of internet usage, businesses began shifting some money away from traditional advertising venues to website development and internet advertising. This was a successful strategy when the internet was still small. Now-a-days, there is an overload on information and advertising on the web. So, how does a business stand out to customers who are interested in what they have to sell? They first start by improving their search ranking in an effort to land on the first page of results from searches on major engines like Google and Yahoo. They can do this by optimizing keywords and paying to be listed as a sponsor when people search with pre-specified keywords. This is a necessary tactic, but any good marketer knows that relying on only one stream of leads is short-sighted and risky.

A second tactic is to partner with other websites that provide content which interests their best prospects. This alliance is called an affiliate marketing program (or performance marketing in some circles). It is designed to create a network of targeted lead generators. The concept is simple: companies advertise related products and services to the targeted audience of a website. The owner of that site is rewarded for generating business for referring business to the company. Example: I am interested in cats and build a site with cat tales. Cat food manufacturers, veterinaries, and stores who sell pet food advertise on my site. When my readers click-through to the vendor's sites or make a purchase, I receive a commission. Although there are several affiliate program models the most popular by far is revenue sharing, also known as Cost-per-sale (CPS) or Pay-per-sale (PPS). First a customer must reach the merchant site by clicking on an ad from the publisher's website. When that customer makes a purchase, the publisher of the original site receives a percentage of the sale. Another commonly used affiliate marketing program pays a set dollar amount per referral who performs a given action, such as signing up to the merchant site, subscribing to a newsletter or filling out a form. This is called Pay-per-lead (PPL), Cost-per-lead (CPL), or Cost-per-action/Cost-per-acquisition (CPA).

According to Marketing Sherpa, in 2006, affiliate programs paid out approximately $6.5 billion US dollars in commissions. If there is so much money to be made, why can't you be a part of this growing industry? Perhaps you're thinking you need to be a web designer who is adept at internet marketing strategies. Once again, technology comes to the rescue! The internet allows you to be in business for your self without having to do it by yourself. But how does it work? Where can you go for good advice? Work at Home Enterprises can provide you with in-depth guidance on how to structure an affiliate home business and run it successfully.

Three Boston Schools To Extend School Day For 2006-2007 School Year

In the fall of 2005, the Boston schools began exploring the education reform strategy of extending the school day for its middle schools. The extended school day gives students more time for learning at a crucial time in their education. The middle school years provide the much-needed preparation for students to enter high school, college and the workforce. Last year, the Boston schools applied for and was awarded a $40,000 planning grant for three schools.

The Boston schools have been awarded grants again this year for another three schools. These three Boston schools were among ten schools across the state that included five school districts. The other four districts are Cambridge, Fall River, Malden, and Worcester, who shared with the Boston schools a total of more than $2.2 million in implementation grants to extend the learning time at the ten schools.

The three Boston schools are:

Clarence R. Edwards Middle School in Charlestown;
Umana/Barnes Middle School in East Boston; and
James P. Timilty Middle School in Roxbury.

Beginning in September 2006, Edwards and Timilty middle schools will begin class at 7:20 a.m., Monday through Friday. They will end school at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and at 11:40 a.m. on Friday. Umana/Barnes will begin classes at 7:35 a.m., Monday through Friday; end school at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and end at 11:40 a.m. on Friday.

As with the schools last year, the Boston schools enlisted the assistance of Boston schools administrators, union representatives, teachers, counselors, principals, parents, and community partners. They worked together to develop the plans and implementation of the extended day at each school. Additionally, the non-profit organization, Massachusetts 2020, gave support to the planning and implementation process. The 2020 group is dedicated to expanding educational and economic opportunities for children and their families within the state of Massachusetts.

The Boston schools interim superintendent, Michael Contompasis, noted that both the students and the teachers benefit from this extra school time. Students receive more classroom instruction time in the core academic subjects that are crucial for their success in high school and college. More time also will be available to students for tutoring, the arts, and recreation. Additionally, teachers are given more time for lesson planning, setting schedules, and for professional development activities.

The Massachusetts Department of Education provides the grants from its Expanded Learning Time to Support Student Success grant program.

The Boston schools have more than 58,000 pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students at 145 schools. The hopes of all concerned is to continue to expand this reform strategy of extended school time; so that student achievement will continue to rise, with students being better prepared for high school, college and the workforce.

How To Start On Your Road To Riches With Google AdWords Today!

How to start on your road to riches with Google AdWords today! Follow these simple steps and be inspired by this article that shows you how to make money online today.

First, find a product you want to promote, something you feel passionate about and that you know people will want it. Start with simple products such as software or ebook, a good place to start is to go to ClickBank.com and do a bit of research on the products you are looking for.

Second, perform a simple keyword research to identify potential target market, you can go to inventory.overture.com to find out what are the more popular keywords people are searching for.

Third, go and register an account at google.com/adwords and follow the simple instruction to put an AdWords advertisement with popular keywords to drive targeted visitors to your landing page or merchant website.

Fourth, it is important to have a landing page or opt in page to build your email list. It is vital to get an autoresponder as soon as possible to build your list.

Fifth, you will get paid whenever a visitor you refer makes a purchase or completes a required "call-to-action".

Before you go through these five steps, you must visualize success and see yourself making money online. You also need to be willing to invest in yourself, to learn as much as possible. You must be teachable and believe that you can do it. You also must identify a team you can work with or find a mentor who is willing to guide you. And most important of all you must enjoy what you are doing and that is why I ask you to find a product you are passionate about or believe wholeheartedly it will help people who need a solution to their problem. And, of course, you must take action and have enough discipline to commit to daily action to work on your computer and start making money online!

I've attended a world-famous personal development program called Money & YOU and one of the popular teachings is "The highest form of leverage is...EDUCATION" How much have you invested in educating yourself on personal development and business? Jay Abraham, the world renowned marketing genius, and my marketing guru, has constantly taught his students that marketing can give you great leverage and returns of thousands of percent!

It is obvious that if you want to be rich, you must do what the rich people are doing! Successful people are willing to share how they achieve their wealth and there are no secrets. There are lots of books written on creating wealth and lots of information is freely available from the Internet. This year I invested over $10,000 to learn more about internet marketing, you must be willing to invest before you can create wealth.

There are no short cuts, you must invest time, money and effort if you are serious about making money online! I happily invested $3,995 to learn from Jay Abraham about marketing at his 3-day billion dollar marketing weekend. And there were over 500 people from China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore attending this special marketing seminar. And many of the participants were millionaires, CEOs, and top executives. This clearly shows that successful people are constantly investing in themselves.

Here's a great marketing tip for you, it is not how much you put into your business, it is how much your return on investment that you should focus on! If every $100 worth of advertisement gives you a $200 profit can you afford to keep on advertising it again and again? Of course, you will want to do it again and again because you have created a positive cashflow of $100 each time you place an advertisement!

There are literally thousands of people worldwide making decent part-time income through AdWords on the Internet, and it is a good start to generate your seed money for creating wealth! Do you believe you can make money from a 25 cent advertisment? Yes, you can if you have the knowledge on how to do it! Again, do not expect to achieve riches in a very short time, it does take time and for a few special ones it may take months and for most people it probably take years! It all depends on your burning desire and your commitment to creating wealth so that you can enjoy a better lifestyle!

How To Create An Affordable Web Site For Your Online Business In Less Than 24 Hours

The purpose of this article is to recommend complete newbies to online business an affordable instant web site solution.

This solution will enable them to create an affordable web site quickly and easily, while taking time to acquire the necessary technical skills.

To have their own web site, they need three essential elements:

- A domain name

- A web host for that domain

- A web design software to create your web site.

Let me give you a brief comparison between starting a traditional and an online business.

** Domain Name **

Before anyone can start up a traditional business, they would brainstorm for a business name.

There's absolutely no difference for an online business. On the Internet, a business name is represented by a domain name.

That's the part that comes after the www in a web site address or after the "@" in an email address.

For example, if an email address is: name@domain.com, then your domain name reads as "domain dot com"

** Web Host **

After a name is given for a traditional businss, an office or shop space is needed so that customers can locate.

So, in the online world, once a domain name is gotten, a web host is needed to store an online business web site.

In other words, web hosting is the service that provides the space for a website to exist.

** Web Design Software **

Now, it's time to look for an interior designer to do the office or shop layout so that the traditional business can operate most efficiently. Another option is to do it yourself.

Similarly, in an online business, a web designer is needed but that would cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. And how about the changes and updates in time to come? The alternative is for the Internet marketer to create their own web sites using some web design software according to their business needs.

** How Long Does A Complete Newbie Take? **

If someone is not yet familiar with computers and the Internet, it's really not that simple to get started. Why I said so is because I personally came across many aspiring Internet marketers who really need help.

Even after attending Internet marketing seminars and back end coaching sessions by gurus that cost them an arm and a leg, they are still totally stumbled by the basics!

Somehow, they cannot get started to do the following:

- Register for a domain name

- Register for a web host

- Point their domain name to their web host (so that when someone types their domain name in their browser, it would take them to their web site)

- Create a web site

- Upload the completed web site to the Internet

As you can see, these are the stumbling blocks to many when starting their Internet marketing journey.

How long would you think a typical office worker who knows only MS Word, email and surfing the Net be able to muster enough courage and take action in order to get up to speed with that?

I've seen people taking three months to do that while there are people who are still at the starting blocks (or shall I say, stumbling blocks) after 6 to 9 months!

Isn't that a pity?

** How To Create An Affordable Web Site In Less Than 24 Hours? **

I came across a solution that can help these people get started within 24 hours!

As long as they can type a letter or create a document in MS Word, they can start creating your own web site with their own domain name literally in minutes!

No, I'm not talking about outsourcing. Nor am I talking about buying web sites from eBay. (I know some newbies who did that but still, they dont know what to do with the web sites they purchased.)

While they take their time to learn and take action on registering a domain name and web host, creating web sites using Frontpage, uploading the files using FTP, they can get started immediately with Affiliate marketing and AdSense Publishing!

Heres the instant solution for them...

Have you ever heard of Global Domains International (GDI)? They are the guys who came up with the .ws domain. Their angle is that domain names is a HUGE thing and if you have missed the .com revolution, heres your chance again with .ws.

For example, if "yourname dot com" is already taken up by someone else with the same name, they you still can register "yourname dot ws"

With a GDI account for just $10 per month, they can register for their "businessname dot ws" and their web site goes LIVE instantly.

Plus, the package comes with a web-based site builder software that they can use to create your web site within hours as long as they know how to use MS Word. Once the web site is completed, all they have to do is to push a button to publish to their web site painlessly.

Guess what?

Now, they can then insert the HTML codes obtained from the affiliate programs or Amazon or Google AdSense. And they have up to 10 web pages to paste that into.

A Marketing Plan to copy

What does a marketing plan cost these days?

Hundreds, thousands? Not that much if you know what to do your self!

Have you asked a Marketing Agency for a quote todraw up a Marketing Plan recently? If you own a small business, then it is hard to justify spending the 600 a day one asked for. We all have to watch our bottom lines like hawks, especially in the difficult-trading-conditions we seem to be in. But here is a dilemma! A Marketing Plan is a really essential tool that will show a small business owner where their business is and map out where it needs to go. It is vital in today's competitive environment that even small business should have one.

When you overdraft comes up for renewal and your bank manager has to justify lending the bank's money to your business, think how much easier it would be to convince them with a plan laid out in neat systematic form.

It is the case that far too many small companies don't have a Marketing Plan, or the owner has it locked up in his head. A place of storage that is really difficult to access when you need to show it to the potential investor or the bank manager. Inevitably this event usually occurs when you are really busy and committing your plan to paper, or computer file, is added pressure that you really could do with out. I run a small retail business and recently I studied for, and obtained, the UK's Chartered Institute of Marketing's "Professional Diploma in Marketing". It was a convergent learning course on the net and in four intensive workshop days in my local town. It brought home to me that what we did in our own business was fine up to a point. As the course was very practical, with the chance to use any organisation of the student's choice in the assignments that we had to submit, I ended up formally setting down the Marketing Plan on paper, that had been up there in my head for no one to see!

So what is a Marketing Plan for?

Well, its purpose is to lay down, direct and co-ordinate all your marketing activities and events. It is like a map. With a map it is easier to get some place. With a marketing plan it is easier to get the business to where you want it to head. This is, hopefully, to huge profits!

Perhaps you are the owner or director of a company seeking backing or further investment? Well a good marketing plan can be really important in attracting new investment or better bank facilities.

Perhaps you need help in making choices regarding which parts of the market to focus on and how to compete in that target market (Marketing Strategy)?

Often the mere process of preparing a marketing plan will help you to develop a successful marketing strategy through the discipline and process that you go through.

A good marketing plan will describe all the marketing actions to be carried out within a specific time period. It will contain details of your company, its products or services, its marketing objectives and strategies and information on how to measure the results of the marketing activities.

It might help if I give you a framework of basic elements that a Marketing Plan should include.

Basic Elements of a Marketing Plan

So what do you need?

1.Executive Summary - introduces and explains the major features and recommendations to executives (or your bank manager).

1.1 Introduction - a brief description of your organisation, its products and or services.

The context and objectives of the plan should be described and a description of what your business activities are. You should include current revenues, customers and your market position. You can also blow your own trumpet here! Note your accomplishments and successes to date.

If it is a new market entry or entirely new markets you are going for, then here is the place to describe any experience, training or competencies that your company has.

1.2 Vision, Mission Statement and Objectives

Mission statements focus on the long-range purpose of your marketing plan.

"To educate entertain and enlighten our clients so that they become more successful Marketers."

Company objectives should be more specific and oriented towards action.

"We will deliver a balanced range of Marketing Solution Publications to the U.K. and Europe through mail order and Internet."

1.3 Team description

Who will deliver the plan? What are the resources and structure of the team who will do so?

Management skills and capabilities. List any Marketing knowledge, sales skills, copy-writing ability, etc.

Agencies - Include any Marketing consultants, PR agencies you are using.

If there are any gaps honestly point them out and do a Training Needs Analysis.

1.4 Main marketing objectives

You need only give a brief statement of these here to close the Executive summary.

2.1 Current market conditions

What are the trends in your market?

What are the dynamics facing businesses such as yours?

Who are your target customers?

What competition do you face?

2.2 Market trends:

You should describe the macroeconomic trends that directly affect the target market that your marketing plan is aimed at.

This is where the PEST Framework is useful to include. (Sometimes referred to as PESTEL, SLEPT or PESTE) the components are:

Political

Economic

Social

Technological

Environment

Legal

2.3 Target market

It goes without saying that you should be aiming all your marketing efforts precisely at a target market or you are heading for a disaster.

All good marketing planning should follow from a very detailed segmentation of the market.

Size? Is it growing, staying the same, or shrinking?

Customer characteristics e.g. age, sex, income level, location, marital status, number of children etc.

Habits, patterns and values of target customer.

What are their wants, needs and desires?

What are their buying habits? - How do they spend their disposable income and when do they buy and how do they buy? How many times and when?

2.4 Competition analysis

In the micro environment analysis of a Marketing Audit you will hopefully have identified your present and potential competitors. What are their key products / services? How do they differentiate them selves? You should briefly explain the actions that you will take to oppose or overcome your competitor's offerings.

I highly recommend you use Professor Michael Porter's Five Forces Model for this and the four other threats he identifies. Space does not allow me to go into detail here although I have written a more comprehensive report in which I include a diagram of the Five Forces Model available from my own website: http://www.promarketer.co.uk

2.5 Issues analysis

You should briefly list such key external issues as government legislation affecting your business, or new technological development that impinges on your product.

3.1 SWOT analysis

Strengths

Weakness

Opportunities

Threats

A major component of any marketing plan is the SWOT analysis. Strengths and weaknesses are born of internal elements while opportunities and threats come from outside.

When opportunities and threats are recognised they can then be examined from the point of view of your product strengths and weaknesses.

What could we change or improve about our product to make it easier for the customer?

What are our customers' wants and desires? - We may possibly find new opportunities by thinking about such questions.

It is worth remembering that a threat can also be an opportunity to you, while a strength may also be a weakness depending on your point of view!

A business offering a vast selection of products may see this as one of their strengths. But for the customer, confused by the bewildering array of options as they try to find what they need, sees it as a weakness.

4. Positioning Strategy

Decide how you want your clients to perceive you in your marketplace.

Lowest price?

Best service?

Highest quality?

This is all part of the differentiation process.

5. Differentiation

You want to 'stand out from the crowd' so you need to make some decisions on segmentation and the positioning of your business. Combine this with your competitive analysis and you should be able to differentiate yourself from the competition.

6. Key messages

Thinking about differentiation should also help you to decide on your 'Key messages'. Be warned that it usually takes time for these to make an impact, to 'sink in', as it were. This means it is important to keep repeating your consistent messages throughout any marketing campaigns.

7. The Marketing Mix

The 4 P's.P is for:

Product - List your companies products and services. Include their key features. Is there something unique about them? If you are launching a new product or service include it here.

Price - There are many ways to set a price, some more scientific than others are! Remember that pricing is an integral part of the marketing strategy. Ask yourself is the customer willing to pay the price proposed and will it give you any profit? Some prices may be set on a cost-plus basis - adding a profit on to the costs of producing the goods or services. A better way is the 'market-based' price because it takes into account what your competitors are charging.

Place - where do you sell? Direct, through an intermediary? Bricks and mortar or virtual outlet?

Promotion - what activities are you going to use to create awareness of your product or service to generate sales? This is also referred to as Marketing Communications and includes direct selling, corporate events, brochures, web-sites, advertising. You should be warned that many inexperienced marketers think that the promotional plan is the entire marketing plan. It is, as you can see, but one component of the marketing plan.

7a. Integration of Promotional activity

Have you got a consistent look and feel to all your marketing mix? It is wise to make sure all your communications, brand positioning, propositions, messages, etc are derived from a single brand position so it is not confusing to the consumer by being fragmented. Also are there cross selling opportunities for you to exploit?

Only 4 Ps? - Funny, I thought I heard there were 7!

Before leaving the marketing mix I need to tell you about the Extended mix, which adds People, Process and Physical evidence to Product, Price, Place and Promotion.

If you are a service, or a not-for-profit organisation, then the extra three Ps are most important for you. But don't just assume that because you are not, that they don't apply!

People oriented organisations have to consider how their personnel make the marketing activities more, or less, effective when dealing face to face (or on the phone) with their public.

Process makes it easy for you to deal with the organisation. If it is a charity, for example, today people expect to be able to go on-line, set up direct-debits, pay by card and not just put money in the street collectors tin.

Physical evidence is expected to result from paying for a service or donating to a charity. You expect to see some physical evidence of the use your money has been put to.

8. Marketing Budget

You need a detailed budget for the next year showing the budgeted costs for each of your promotional items.

9. Measurement

Results and feed back must be gathered each month and compared with the marketing plan. When they are going astray you need to take corrective action.

Another tip is to ask your customers how they found you so that you can monitor what parts of your communications plan are working. Note this and include this in your measurements.

10. Milestones

It is a good idea to announce in the plan some marketing milestones you will strive to achieve. When you pass them celebrate!

So there it is a step by step process to create yourself a professional Marketing plan.

Car Sharing A Neglected Solution?

With congestion continuing to rise on Britains roads a number of solutions have been proposed, raising tax being the main one. However, every day in the UK there are over 10 million empty seats on the roads. Worse still, the vast majority of these empty seats are during the rush hour, with average occupancy for commuting only 1.2. The solution appears to be simple car sharing. This is further supported by recent research which found that over 50% of commuters would car share on their way to work if they could find someone suitable to share with.

Car sharing has often been talked about but only ever considered to be a small scale solution, unlikely to have a significant effect on congestion levels. Again, the evidence suggests otherwise. A 25% increase in car occupancy levels would result in the number of commuting cars on the road falling by 21%. Put another way, if everyone shared a journey to work just once a week then the effect would be similar. With over 50% of people happy to try car sharing out this could be an attainable target.

So why has car sharing failed to take off in a big way? Put simply, a lack of funding. Without the money to raise awareness of car sharing and the ways to go about finding someone to share with, the concept of car sharing is always going to be doomed to being an insignificant solution.

Why hasnt the funding been provided by the government, particularly in light of the many reports that have come out over recent years highlighting the potential of car sharing? One can only speculate but to governments the idea of car sharing isnt so attractive. It generates no additional government revenue and is in fact likely to reduce it, particularly with the decline in fuel consumption. Compared with the prospect of continuing to dramatically increase taxes on motorists, many of whom have no choice but to use their cars, car sharing doesnt stand a chance.

The benefits of car sharing are also often vastly underestimated. Car sharing does hugely reduce petrol consumption for the individuals involved and if promoted in a large way then congestion and pollution could be reduced significantly. Other benefits include reduced parking problems and the lower mileage done by each car means that they depreciate less rapidly.

However, one statistics that is overlooked is the impact of car sharing on road safety. The number of speeding fines handed out in the UK in 2005 reached the 2 million mark. With road safety being of such apparent importance the statistic that the likelihood of having an accident is reduced by 50% if there are two or more people in the car should make the relevant authorities sit up and take note. The way to increase road safety is to promote car sharing. The added fact that it is also makes driving cheaper for the individual, and reduces congestion and pollution, should encourage people to take car sharing seriously.

Becoming involved in car sharing is very straightforward. Liftshare.org was established in 1997 and now has over 130,000 members one million journeys registered. Its also free to join, with a simple registration form to complete before you can register a journey and begin searching for travel companions. Whether youre traveling to work, a festival or a sporting event car sharing is possible.

An Introduction To Homeowner Loans: The Key To Cash In Your House

These days its difficult to get by without some form of financial assistance most of us have loans, mortgages, credit cards, store cards or other types of debt. Taking out a personal loan is one of the most common and convenient ways in which to borrow money. There are two main types unsecured or secured. Unsecured loans are loans without any form of security tied to them as a guarantee of repayment, whereas secured loans are guaranteed by some form of security to safeguard the lender in case of non repayment. Normally the security used in such loans is your house whether you own it outright or have a mortgage on it. (Loans secured against a house that already has a mortgage tied to it are known as second charges, and loans secured against a house that is fully owned are known as first charges.)

Homeowners therefore have a real advantage when it comes to borrowing money, as owning property provides great potential for freeing up capital for personal use. Homeowner loans, as they are often known, allow you to use the equity available in your house to borrow money.

(Equity means the value of your home minus any outstanding debts secured on it, such as a mortgage.) They have many benefits:

Equity is the key to unlocking large sums of cash from the value of your property. Homeowner loans allow a much higher amount of lending over a longer period than unsecured loans, as they are guaranteed against the value of your property and are therefore considered less of a risk to the lender than an unsecured loan. Even if you have negative equity (i.e. your mortgage or debt is higher than the value of your home) its often possible to get a homeowner loan, as many lenders will lend up to 120% of the value of the property.

For the same reason, homeowner loans tend to have a lower rate of interest than unsecured loans. This means lower, more affordable monthly repayments than an unsecured loan.

As with any other personal loan, the money is yours to spend in whichever way you want. You might want to make some home improvements, purchase land, use the capital to start up a business, buy a car, go on holiday or consolidate debts or loans.

Some people have problems, often because of poor credit history. However, as homeowner loans are secured and provide a guarantee to the lender, people who have previously been unable to qualify for an often find it much easier to get a secured loan, thereby giving them access to borrowing that they could not otherwise have obtained.

Homeowner loans can also be as flexible as you want them to be. At the outset youll discuss and agree with the lender what terms and conditions best suit your needs.

Typical repayment terms may be anything from three to 25 years, normally paid in monthly instalments, and loan amounts tend to range from £2,000 to £60,000. Interest will be charged on the amount that you borrow, which is known as the APR or annual percentage rate. The specific details of your loan the amount, interest rate and repayment term will be calculated based on the equity available in your property (which will need to be valued), your personal financial status and credit history and the lenders confidence in your ability to repay.

Research the cost of your loan carefully before you sign up to anything. As with any other purchase, its essential to do a bit of research and shop around until you get the best deal. You may find that the interest rates seem to vary considerably from lender to lender.

However, beware of how the APR is advertised different companies calculate their APR in different ways, and often display their monthly rates more prominently than the APR, so its not always easy to compare. (Monthly rates can be cheaper than the APR, which is very misleading.) For each product, find out what the APR is and how it is calculated so that you understand exactly how much the monthly repayments will be and how much youll be repaying in total. This will enable you to compare like for like between products.

Charges and penalties can make a big difference to the cost of the loan. Many policies penalise early repayment, and others contain hidden fees and charges. Always read the small print and ensure that you understand the terms and conditions exactly. Ask the lender to explain any areas that youre unsure about before you commit to anything.

Another useful tip to bear in mind is that the shorter the repayment term, the less interest youll be paying and therefore the lower the total cost will be to you. Its therefore best to find the shortest term that you can manage.

Remember that its not just traditional banks, building societies and mortgage lenders who sell financial products.

Nowadays there are many other types of lender in the market providing competitive deals at competitive prices. Youll probably find that supermarkets and online providers offer the best value for money.

Most importantly, weigh up the risks and benefits of using your home as security for a loan to ensure its the right thing for you. On the whole, homeowner loans offer much better value for money than unsecured loans and are very convenient for people who are unable to qualify for an unsecured loan. However, before you proceed, you should analyse your personal finances, work out your budget and be confident that youll be able to keep up the repayments, otherwise you could end up losing your home. your property is the key to When youve considered all these important factors relating to homeowner loans and looked around for a suitable product, you can be sure that youll be getting a better deal with a homeowner loan than you would be with an unsecured personal loanraising the cash you need in an affordable way.

Why is My Real Estate Career On the Skids?

How do you feel about roller coasters? Do you get nauseous or do you feel the thrill, throw your hands in the air and yell with excitement? If you want to succeed in the real estate industry you must learn to love unexpected turns of events and a wild ride. The real estate market is in an up and down cycle just like the stock market. Currently, many agents fear a soft or slowed market but the market has simply adjusted, as it has in the past. Change is a part of life and in the business of real estate you can count on it.

Two Words: Marketing Plan

Over the last few years many agents rode in on the sellers market and started a business with leads from family and friends. Unfortunately, relying on these types of leads is not a sustainable way of marketing yourself as a REALTOR. In the excitement of a hot market many agents failed to think ahead and are now struggling to compete. Nationally there is a marketing frenzy that, without a plan of action, will shake you right out of the market. According to real estate expert Terry Watson, one of the Top 7 Rookie Mistakes in the real estate industry is having no marketing plan. When you go into real estate sales, you are going into business for yourself, states Watson. But many salespeople have no clear goals or timeline for achieving their goals, he continues, Consistently, real estate professionals who have a written business plan are more successful than people who dont.

Be an Entrepreneur

Basically a REALTOR is an independent contractor. Dont get confused and think, as an agent, you work for a broker. If you are not earning a commission split of ninety-five to one hundred percent why take your money and pay fifteen to fifty percent of every commission dollar? This alone will put your real estate career in the toilet. At the end of the day you:

1. Lack the money to market yourself.
2. Are unable to claim the maximum number of tax write offs.
3. Cannot afford an office assistant so you can meet with clients and prospect.

Terry Watson calls Not Maximizing Your Productivity another one of the Top 7 Rookie Mistakes. According to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS Member Profile, Watson says, real estate practitioners who used at least one personal assistant had a significantly higher sales volume than those who didnt. You may erroneously think that you cant afford a personal assistant. But think again. Also every agent should partner with a franchise. Although you have to generate your own leads, you put more money in your pocket and take charge of your own destiny.

Technology Isnt Just for Geeks

Another key to a successful real estate career is to utilize the technology available. As a real estate agent, technology makes you more efficient and organized. Again Terry Watson writes If you look at top-producing real estate professionals who are selling 600-plus units a year, you will notice that they have two things in common: assistants and systems. He continues, These practitioners are multiplying their efforts and increasing their output through people and technology. Also, approximately eighty percent of all buyers begin their real estate search online. The Internet is a tool no REALTOR can afford to ignore. As an agent, I not only have web sites to attract online buyers and sellers nationwide, I have assembled a team of Internet marketing specialists. A focus on my niche market, those planning to retire or relocate to the Williamsburg region, makes Internet marketing essential. Dont spread yourself thin, find a marketing strategy that works and invest in it!

Last But Not Least: Customer Service

Although exceptional customer service should be the top priority of every real estate agent, it isnt. Customer service counts, especially when assisting people with the sale or purchase of one of their most precious investments, a home. I find more new clients by answering my cell phone and returning messages within four or five hours. Homebuyers and sellers dont want that real estate if youre lucky feeling, they want a REALTOR for life. Also, when you are with a client dont answer phone calls. Give them your undivided attention and be responsive to their needs. These practices ensure referrals in the future.

Your career as a REALTOR can lead to success if you are willing to put your sweat, heart and ambition into this ever changing industry. Business Plans - How They Help YOU!

Many people panic at the thought of writing a business plan; it sounds very formal and can be a daunting prospect. The fear of knowing what to include and what template to use (there are so many!) can be stressful. As an entrepreneur with a creative flair for new ideas, writing a business plan is likely to feel completely alien to you - dull and far removed from the reality of actually running a business. Well, heres the thing, a business plan is as much for YOU as it is for the audience you are presenting it to. Writing a business plan will provide clarity and vision to help you achieve your goals. It will ensure youve actually thought about every aspect of youve your business; your competitors, target audience, distribution, marketing and other fundamentals that could help or hinder your success. You could consider writing two business plans, one with a formal tone and one with a more passionate feel to it (the latter being specifically for you). Either way, remember the real goal of a business plan is to demonstrate you are an entrepreneur fully equipped to take on the world with your business, youre more than a dreamer youre a doer.

A business plan is a statement of intent; of your goals and missions, of the competition and industry you are entering, of your business strategy. The style and format of your business plan should be tailored to the audience you are writing it for. If you are going to a bank for funding, then you should stick to a formal business plan (summarized at the end of this article for you). If youre pitching to a business angel, you may wish to adopt a slightly different approach. Angels want to hear and see passion from you about your idea/business proposal, so you should think about how you could incorporate this into your business plan and make it a true reflection of you and your goals.

Remember, a successful business on paper doesnt necessarily translate into a successful business in real life, so dont worry too much about producing the perfect business plan. The key elements to include are:-

1. A full financial model
2. A marketing plan; including strategy, competition and product positioning
3. People management (including you)
4. A 2-5 year projection for the business

Whoever you are pitching to for funding, you should be able to demonstrate a complete knowledge of the industry you are looking at entering, including competition, target market, challenges etc. Knowledge is power and if you can competently and confidently talk about your business with real passion and enthusiasm, youll win the investors over every time. If you panic, flounder and are unable to answer numerous (all brought on by lack of insight and preparation) questions pitched to you, well Im sure you can deduce the outcome. The real purpose of a business plan is to demonstrate to investors that youve actually thought about your business, you have a clear vision and you know the challenges and possibilities.

A formal business plan should include the following:-

1. An Executive Summary
a. This is a summary of your business plan, highlighting the key points of interest and value. It should be concise but not superficial. It needs to grab the readers attention, so needs to be interesting think in marketing terms AIDA, Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. The aim is to get the investor to go through all of these states, resulting in the desire to invest in you.

2. Company Overview and Strategy
a. This should include the objectives, mission and feasibility of your company
b. The Price - detail what you plan to sell your product/service for and why you have decided on the price point outlined.
c. The Product - define your product and why you think there will be demand for it; include how you are going to develop it. What are the USPs? (Unique Selling Points)
d. Place state your distribution plans; how are you going to sell your product?
e. Promotion how are you going to promote your business? Think about your communications plan in terms of advertising, direct mail, merchandising, brand awareness

3. Competition
a. This should be as detailed and up-to-date as possible their products, customers, distribution, service, known strategies.

4. The Market
a. What is the size of the market you are looking at entering, trends, influences, threats?

5. Customers
a. What is the target audience? Where do they live? What do they do? How old are they? Male/Female bias?

6. Managerial
a. Include yourself in this part.
b. Detail other members of your team, their skill set and the value they bring to the business (experience is of great value)
c. Training required?

7. Financial Projections
a. Include forecasts, cash flow and funding.

Remember nothing is set in stone; there is no perfect template. But, if you know your market, product, finances and competition and have oodles of passion and enthusiasm, youll stand out as a professional rather than an amateur.

5 Sure-Fire Boosts to Your Online Money-Making Success

Ok, youve purchased one of those money-maker products and its giving you all sorts of ideas for making money online. Now what?

Although its possible to generate Internet income without a website, youll eventually want one or even several so you can get listed in search results. But dont forget, search engines love to send visitors to content-rich websites, so youll want to cram your sites with useful information. Heres how it works Good content impresses your visitors, who are then coaxed into buying.

What can you do to boost your fledgling online business? Study and learn, and then keep studying and learning! I know it sounds like work, but competition on the Internet is fierce and soon only the very knowledgeable will succeed. You can make yourself one of the success stories.

Heres how to build a website business that will put more online cash in your pocket.

Step 1: Buy a product that includes a free, starter website.

Some money-making products offer a free website after you purchase the package. Its a great start for your Internet empire, so take advantage of the offer.

Recommended: Adwords Miracle, The Ultimate Wealth Package, The Rich Jerk.

Step 2: Use Adwords ads to get traffic to your website in a hurry.

Check out books from the library or book stores to get familiar with Google Adwords (that's the name of Google's pay-per-click (PPC) ad program). These ads appear in the Sponsored Links area, to the right of web search results.

How does Adwords work? You pick targeted keywords and write a brief ad to entice your visitors to click. Its the quickest way to get traffic to your website, but it will cost you. You bid on the keywords you want your ad to be listed for and pay the bid price each time a visitor clicks on your ad.

Recommended: If you have the money, buy at least one information product that teaches the basics of PPC advertising and gives you some insight into the techniques professional marketers use. Two excellent products are Adwords Miracle and Beating Adwords.

Step 3: Learn some HTML and put Adsense ads on your websites.

You will want to adjust and adapt your websites to add more income-producing content. For example, Google has a free program called Adsense where you place Google Adwords ads on your web pages. Google gives you the instructions making it easy to place Adsense ads on your web pages, as long as you know basic HTML.

Adsense ads are matched to the content on your pages so theyre relevant to your website and of interest to your visitors. If someone clicks on an Adsense ad from your website you get credit for the click at approximately 50% of the per-click cost the ad owner pays Google.

Heres the benefit of Adsense: if your visitors arent ready to buy the products on your website, they may want to click on a relevant Adsense ad instead. If they do, you get some income to offset the cost of any Adwords ad they clicked to get to your site in the first place. In fact, some people actually make a living from Adsense revenue. You could be one of them!

Recommended: Your public library has books and CD-ROMs that can train you in basic HTML. If you prefer online instruction, try the free courses at W3Schools: (http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_intro.asp). For Adsense information: (https://www.google.com/adsense/).

Step 4: Become fluent in SEO (Search Engine Optimization.)

This is a fancy phrase that simply means adjusting the content and some of the HTML to make your websites more appealing to search engines, like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Search engines look for keyword-rich content and certain HTML tags to determine the topic of your site. The more search engine friendly you make your website, the higher you will appear in the search results. But why bother, if youre forking-out cash to have Adwords ads send traffic to your site?

Consider this Statistics show that searchers trust and click normal search engine results more than Adwords ads. So, if you tweak your site a little bit you will eventually get FREE search placement. Instead of clicking on one of your expensive Adwords ads, a prospective customer will see your website listed in the general search results and click there instead. That, my friend, is a NO COST click! Well worth a little study and some massaging of your website content and HTML.

Step 5: Repeat, then repeat again.

Once youve mastered the above strategies, you simply create more websites using what youve learned. Check the money-making product you originally bought for ideas for website topics and products to sell.

Your Strategy Summary.

Ok, lets review how the whole process works. Heres what you do:

(1) Buy a money-making product with a free website that jump-starts your online business.
(2) Use Adwords to generate quick traffic to your website.
(3) Put Adsense ads on your site to offset your Adwords costs.
(4) Tweak your HTML and website content to improve your search engine placement and visitor interest.
(5) Create more websites using the free site as a template and duplicate your success, over and over again.

Thats how money is made on the Internet. Theres no real trick to it, you simply go from one successful website to another, earning a little money from each one. With some study and a certain amount of work, youll eventually own a website empire that generates enough cash for you to make a comfortable online living.

Intenet Marketing For Your Small Business

A decade ago, the internet wasnt considered an important part of a small business marketing strategy. Today, its paramount. That doesnt mean that your small business marketing strategy has to include a lavish 25-page website with sounds, flash movies, and thousand-dollar graphics. It doesnt mean that you have to spend $5.77 per click to advertise under the keywords small business marketing on Google. It does mean that you need to understand, at the very least, what the internet can do for your small business marketing.

To gain that understanding, youll need to learn about the four most fundamental pillars of internet small business marketing: 1) websites; 2) search engine optimization; 3) pay-per-click advertising; and 4) affiliate marketing.

Websites

Websites are the foundation of the Internet. So the logical first step in developing your internet small business marketing strategy is to set up a website. Unless youre incredibly tech savvy or have a large budget to spend on your internet small business marketing, youd be better off starting simple.

To begin, think about what small business marketing goals you want to accomplish with your website:

Do you want to tell potential customers about your products or services?
Do you want customers to be able to buy directly from your site?
Do you want to offer visitors valuable information?
Do you plan to use your website to reach outside of your current network or primarily to communicate with the contacts you already have?

No matter what small business marketing goals you want to accomplish with your site, at the very least youll have to register your domain name (your website address) and sign up with a web hosting service.

Search engine optimization

The cheapest way to optimize your small business marketing website strategy is through search engine optimization (SEO). To understand SEO, first think about how visitors will find your site. There are three principle ways:

1. Theyll know your web address already (perhaps they got it off your business card or other small business marketing materials) and theyll simply type it in on the address line
2. Theyll find your website through a link they found somewhere on the Internet
3. Theyll search in one of the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN) for a keyword or key phrase that relates to your business.

In internet small business marketing, the trick lies in getting your website to rank on the first (or even second, or third) page of results that come up when a visitor runs a keyword search. Search engine optimization is the art of doing just that. The most powerful way to improve your search page rankings (and, thereby, your small business marketing results) is to have relevant keywords embedded throughout your sites content.

Pay-per-click advertising

Strategically placing relevant keywords in your site content and having other pages link to yours are called organic ways to improve your search engine ranking. Another way to maximize the effectiveness of your internet small business marketing strategy is to pay for advertising on the search engines.

The principle behind pay-per-click advertising programs (like Googles AdWords) is that you pay to have your website address and a brief ad displayed with the organic results of web visitors searches. For example, for $5.77 per click you can have your website address and ad appear on the first, second or third pages on Google when users type in the key phrase small business marketing. As with all advertising, the most popular keywords are more expensive than the less popular ones.

Affiliate marketing

Where pay-per-click advertising is a non-organic way to get your website listed on search pages, affiliate marketing is a non-organic way to get other sites to link to yours. The principle behind this small business marketing tool is that you advertise your site on other websites and each time someone clicks through to your site from that other site, you pay your affiliate site a fee. Affiliate marketing works both ways, too: you can allow related businesses to advertise on your site and earn a commission when viewers click through.

Whatever method you choose for your online small business marketing strategy, its becoming increasingly important that you have an online presence. Those businesses that dont may well get left in the dust.

How to Legally Sell an Affiliate Product on Ebay

If you're involved as an affiliate for any product, you've probably wrestled with how you can sell the product on eBay.

After all, eBay offers you a massive potential audience of 168 million members. And people who read about your product will likely have found it by searching, thus saying they are interested in the product area in which your product resides.

The bad news, however, is that there is no easy way to market affiliate products on eBay!

First of all, if you haven't heard of affiliate selling, here's a very quick description of how it works.

Fundamentally, selling an affiliate product requires that you get interested buyers to click on a special link. This link takes the person to the product owner's sales page. More importantly, the link also contains your unique affiliate code. It is this code which ensures that sales made from your introductions are recorded in your affiliate account. Finally, if your prospect purchases the product, it is the owner who handles product delivery and who also pays you your sales commission payment.

On eBay, you could easily set up an auction saying how marvelous your affiliate product is. You will certainly attract a number of people who would be interested in buying. The problem is, you have no legitimate way of selling it to eBay members!

This is because it's against eBay's rules to have a link in your auction page which takes your readers away to another website to make a sale. So, you can't just create a sales page with your affiliate link.

Also, if you think about it, you don't even have the affiliate product to deliver. There's no mechanism for you to make the sale on eBay, and deliver the product. If you recall, this is handled automatically by the product owner.

So here are two ways in which you can tap into the eBay market with your affiliate products.

1. The Simple System

You create an auction which explains the benefits of the affiliate product you're promoting. This would be the normal sales page for the product you're promoting.

But what do you offer on your eBay auction?

What you sell is the information on where to get hold of this superb product. And you "sell" this knowledge for just one penny.

Whenever someone "buys" your information, you send them an email saying thank you for your purchase. You then explain they don't really need to send you a penny, and you give them the link to the fantastic product in which they've expressed an interest.

Of course, the link is YOUR affiliate link.

By the way, in your auction description page please think of a new angle for the product. You'll find almost everybody who is an affiliate for any popular product will be using the suggested sales material supplied by the product owner.

If you use the standard sales pitch, you will just appear to be one of many. Your interested purchaser has probably seen some of these already. Why should they take notice of you?

Lace your auction description with personal and credible information about the product, and you will get some of those prospective buyers to go with you.

Incidentally, you could find that your one penny auctions are removed by eBay. After all, a one penny auction doesn't bring eBay very much by way of listing or final value fee.

If this happens to you, you could try system 2 below, and you can also place your one penny auction on other auction sites such as Yahoo, Amazon, QXL etc

2. The Not as Simple System

With this system, you need to do a little research before you launch your eBay auction for your affiliate product.

The objective here is to create a package of items which are related to your affiliate products, and which you auction at 99 cents or 99 pence.

First off, you need to create a 2 or 3 page report about your affiliate product. Ideally this should be based on your personal experience with the product. Failing that, it should be written in your own personal style. The key points are that these are your own words, and the report includes your affiliate link to the product.

The next step is to find other items for your "package". You do this by using Google search to locate related free products.

Let's suppose you're an affiliate for an ebook which teaches how to paint and draw figures. On Google you would search for something like - figure drawing free.

It took me under 10 minutes to locate the following freebies:

Photographing Your Artwork (free ebook) 3D Figure Drawing Studio software (free trial) How to Sell Your Art (free newsletter)

And there are many more you could unearth given a little more research time. Be a little careful in your selection - you don't want to give away something which will compete with your affiliate ebook.

Having found your items, what you now do is bundle them up and add them to your 2/3 page report. You then create an auction which offers the whole package for 99 cents or pence.

There's no way eBay can possibly object to this auction.

As you can see, all it really takes to get your affiliate product in front of eBay's massive market place is a little creativity.
